President Jill is out and about! Here is her latest news….

Hello Friends , those that I have made many moons ago and those I hope to make over the Tangent year and beyond

Well we are now over 4 months into the Tangent year and I hope everyone has had a great summer and is ready for full swing into Autumn.

My diary is filling up well but there are still a lot of free dates. I recently attended a Charter in Cambridge and Sue Thomas A past National President told me about her challenge to herself in her year to visit as many of the Counties as possible where there are Tangents present. Well I don’t think I will manage all of them but please if you are having an event where you would like National attendance, maybe a cluster meeting with other Tangents, A meeting with one or more of the other four club family meetings, or your own Charter meeting etc., then you only just have to ask. Please contact my diary lady, Sarah Sissons, on [email protected], or fill in the form on the website and if I am free I will do what I can to make it.

If you want an event publicised send in your details and we will help you on this as well, on both the Web site and our Facebook page.

If you club is not interested in having the President attend, then come to one of the Regional Lunches or my charity lunch or ball (the dates and venues for all of these are on the website) and meet the members of the National Executive and other Tangent members.

My theme for the year is “Together is Stronger” , wherever I go I wear my Tangent Badge with pride and tell everyone about s our wonderful club, so please put on your badge and shout about our club.and  please remember the other 3 clubs in the Round Table family . If you are lucky enough to have one or more of them still in your locality , have joint meetings , organise a challenge with them, help in fund raising and community service projects BUT most importantly tell the world about them all . We are the best kept secret out there and we need to crow to the world about what we do .

My charity for this year is Round Table Children’s Wish There is a page on this website about them ( )and the ways you can help. One very easy way is to empty your purse of the copper when it becomes heavy, put this in a change bag and give this to me at a lunch or when I come to your club. Think what good we would do if everyone did this and collected a couple of pounds this way over the year, the charity would be able to give quite a few wishes directly from us and no one would notice they have given the money. I have been to several clubs that have collected coins and handed them to me at meeting, bring them to your meeting when I see you, or at as Regional Lunch or at the AGM in Torquay.

I also have leaflets about a website giveasyoulive, com  where you sign up say which charity you are supporting and  then all you do it shop, what could be easier, please ask you families ro look at this , if we all just did this  for RTCW for our Christmas shopping and asked our families to do this as well we could easily raise £10.00 per tangent member and then you could change to another charity and this will have cost you nothing and we would have raised a lot of money for charity. . So please, please look at this and support this year’s  National Charity in some way.
