Charity Initiative

Charity Initiative

Welcome to our new Charity Initiative page.

Each year the National President has a charity of the year and this year as a coalition without a President we feel that it is even more important for us to support charities as they will not be receiving funding from a lot of their usual sources.

Sector bodies estimate that charities will miss out on at least £4.3bn of income over the coming 12 weeks, though the figure could be far higher. With this in mind, we have decided to support a number of charities and initiatives that need help during these very trying times.

We were inspired by the Round Table Family one set up by Sarah Sissons – Gifting a smile, wish list group for our 5 club family and by Pauline Campbell’s support of Stripey Stork who were awarded the Star Award at Tangent Club’s AGM in 2019.

For those Tangent members that have access to Facebook we have set up a group page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1098448917187357/ that is constantly being updated.

There are various ways in which you can help.

  1. If you have an Amazon account then why not gift a smile and choose a gift to send to one of these initiatives:

♥ Stripey Stork, Reigate, Surrey

We would all normally be attending Tangent meetings, buying drinks and raffle tickets and the money that we are not spending in this way could be put to great use by some of these charities.

Virtual Raffle!

We would like to be able to give you something back for all your help so we will be running a virtual raffle during the year.  For any donations or help that you give and you would like to be included in our raffle please send your name through to [email protected] together with your Tangent and phone number, all the names will be collated and at next year’s AGM, a raffle will be drawn to show our appreciation for the help that you have all given during this very difficult year.

This initiative started on Facebook and you can join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1098448917187357/ and add in your charity. If you would like to add any charity that you are involved with that needs help to the website then please send the details to [email protected]
